Information on the West Peak hike and the One Tam organization

Jul 14 2017

A letter from Monica Stafford following the joint hike with Dialogue members in July 2017:

Hello dear members of the Wednesday Morning Dialogue Group!

It was a pleasure spending the afternoon with you on Mt. Tam. Thanks for all your interest, great questions and great company.

I wanted to follow up and share more information about a few items:

  • West Peak Visitor Use Survey: We would love your ideas and input into the future restoration! You can complete the survey here >>

  • More information and links to other sites about West Peak can be found here >>

  • If you haven’t seen Gary Yost’s short film about West Peak, the Invisible Peak, I think would especially enjoy it now that you have been to the site. You can watch it here:

  • Do you want to stay up to date with news from Mt. Tam? We send one to two emails per month, and it’s the best way to stay in the loop. If you are not already getting the e-news, you can sign up here>>

  • If you are interested in joining One Tam as a member ( I know a good number of you are already members!), you can learn more here:

  • If you haven’t already seen the One Tam website, you can get a better sense of our work at In particular, you may be interested in:
  •  our calendar of events at (you will see our upcoming hikes and links to registration posted here)
  • the full range of our programs and projects, which you can see here:

  • Would you like to add your name to One Tam’s online list of supporters? You can post your name and affiliation (Wednesday Morning Dialog Group, or other professional/ community organization)—no email or financial contribution needed to list your name among our supporter. You can add your name  here >>

Needless to say, please be in touch if you have any questions or would like to get involved. We have some wonderful ways to volunteer on the mountain that I can tell you more about - everything from joining a habitat restoration program, to helping catalog wildlife photos, to joining us as a One Tam Ambassador. Ambassadors are community leaders that help us in a variety of ways to build support and connections for One Tam - by assisting with outreach activities, planning events, leading hikes, connecting us to potential supporters and businesses and more.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you all again on the mountain!
